Smokehouse is in this small neighborhood house, in Islington, the grilled meat is the star. A nice gastropub , where it is not an American BBQ joint, but where the cuts are smoked or grilled!

The products are high quality and locally sourced when possible: simple and good English cuisine. Either you take a suggestion from the menu, or you look at the daily board where  you can find the weight, price and cut available.

The ribeye was excellent, perfectly cooked, it came with a very good peppercorn sauce (blue cheese or béarnaise sauce also available). As sides, we had seasonal greens (cabbage perfectly cooked in butter), fries and Mac’n’Cheese.

The beef  brisket Mac’n’Cheese were some of the best we have ever eaten.

Their selection of draft beer is enormous (it reminds us of Fette Sau) and their wine selection is carefully chosen from small vineyards.

We tried their Earl Gray Old Fashioned: a little too sweet for our taste.

PLAN B: The same team is behind Big & Butcher, another top spot in the neighborhood.
