Rooftop with a pool. No need to say more. We have already spoken several times about Palm Springs, a small town located only 2 hours away from Los Angeles. An oasis in the middle of the desert, where the 60s and the mid-century architectural style are omnipresent. The chain of Boutiques Hotels Kimpton (We have already tried and loved the Goodland in Santa Barbara.) has created a little gem there.
On the ground floor, the lobby is large and airy. The decor is inspired by the desert, mixing modern and bohemian style. A small restaurant, the Juniper Table, perfect in the morning to find something for breakfast (granola, croissants or eggs) and to get a cold brew. There is also the Window Bar which serves delicious cocktails, perfect to start a great day.
The bedrooms are simple and modern made out of concrete and cool blue patterns that offer breathtaking views on the San Jacinto Mountains (if you’re lucky).
Each room has its yoga mat and bluetooth speakers. The hotel also provides bicycles. Perfect for exploring the surroundings.
The must-see is the rooftop, where you will find an indoor restaurant, an outdoor bar and a sick pool. I can assure it is very pleasant to spend your afternoon there. Comfortable lounge chairs, magnificent view (the only rooftop with a pool in the whole city), music, Sun Bum sunscreen available. We cannot wait to go back (we have already had to cancel twice because of this stupid Coronavirus…)
PLAN B: if the venue is a bit too expensive for you, the Saguaro is a great cheaper option. Either way, these addresses are great if you’re going to Coachella.
