Tacos as good as the ones you’ll get in LA. Sonora Taqueria is the place to eat simple and excellent tacos like you can find in California. (Just no fish tacos option…)
Head to the hipster neighborhood of Stoke Newington, for this tiny restaurant where you queue for authentic tacos.
The menu is simple but perfect: carne asada (grilled beef), abodaba (pork and pineapple), barbacoa (slow cooked beef)… There are also vegetarian options: nopales (grilled cactus) or even chorizo (vegan chorizo made out of mushrooms).
We drank an horchata (drink made from rice, almond and cinnamon) which was also delicious.
There are a few tables in the basement that we recommend rather than the 4 seats upstairs where there are way too many people!
PLAN B: watch out to the opening hours, Thursday to Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will probably be a line but it’s worth it. And if you arrive too late, try Acme Fire Cult which is not too far away.
