A short trip to Ticino (Swiss Italian part of the country)? We have the perfect address in Lugano. A place where life is good when the sun is shining. Ideally located on the shores of Lake Lugano, la Buvette – Lido (equivalent to public swimming pool but on lake) San Domenico is a must. Open when it’s not raining!
Two different areas: a restaurant / bar section with tables shaded by trees, bar tables facing the lake where the view is just breathtaking. A simple, eclectic and cool decor (deckchairs, armchairs, disco balls) and delicious food: sandwiches, falafel wraps, bruschetta (salmon, vegetarian), salads. On weekends, they also have brunches.
Of course the cocktails are very good.
The other area is a grassy beach where you can lounge around and spend your day. Since the place belongs to the municipality of Lugano, the entrance to the beach part is not free, it’s like a public swimming pool (during the day: adults 11.-, children up to 8 years 2.-).
You can also arrive with your stand up paddle or by boat to the restaurant.
