Glamping in the Yosemite. We tried the brand new AutoCamp in Mariposa, California.
The concept is very simple : lots of Airstreams, some tents, a few bungalows and a beautiful clubhouse in the middle of a paradise like forest. No need to bring your sleeping bag or to build your own tent. The concept of glamping is to bring the comfort of a boutique hotel to your camping experience. Think fluffy pillows, comfortable bed and a nice shower with some Malin & Goetz products.
The Airstreams are beautifully designed: shower, kitchen, living room area and master bedroom. Everything has been well thought off. They went for a modern and Nordic feel. Each « room » has its own patio with chairs and fire pit. Perfect for a BBQ or to enjoy some S’mores by the fire.
The clubhouse, which is on the top of the campground by a pound, even has a swimming pool. There is a little shopping section where you will find some local wine, craft beer and snacks. Chill breakfast buffet and freshly brewed coffee is served in the morning. Perfect before taking the road.
This location is ideally located if you are driving from or to the Yosemite national park. There are three locations in California and they will open their first East Coast AutoCamp in Cape Code in Fall 2020.
